I was hoping this great deal would take care of my problem. The battery connected up fine but the battery would not take a charge. Seller shipped super fast and I was not out but a couple bucks.

Got the battery, ripped open my ipod in like two seconds, pulled the battery off of the motherboard, pulled it off of the metal back, and then popped the new one right in where the old one had been. Took me seriously less than five minutes, I'm pretty sure I could do it with my eyes closed. Battery works great, holds a charge. Anyone who has trouble with this battery either needs to get someone else more proficient to look at it or perhaps check to see if it is DOA. Sometimes the connectors can be a little finicky, put really the only issue at hand is re seating the end of the cable.
I would highly recommend this product, I love how cheap all this ipod stuff is.

This battery is quite easy to use once you get the iPod open. Of course Apple made battery replacement about as user-UNfriendly as possible, but the tools with this battery make it much easier. I have actually used several of these batteries to fix iPod's for friends and have never had any problems with any of them.

These battery kits are a great way to bring new life to your aging iPod. My Gen 4 video iPod got to the point where it barely made it through a 45 minute video so I knew it was time to replace the battery. I searched online and saw some video tutorials on battery replacement and determined that it was pretty easy. The kit contains the case separation tools you need to open the case which is the hard part - just be gentle and patient and it will open without breaking. Once inside the case it takes about two minutes to pull out the old battery (stuck with soft flexible glue) disconnect the battery from the board and put in the new one. Took me about 10 minutes total the first time and I suspect will take about 3-4 minutes to do the next one - most of the time is spent opening the case. After replacing the battery I charged it up for the recommended 3 hours and it works just like new. The included instructions are not as good as some of the online videos which I would recommend viewing before starting. Very pleased with the kit and the results.
Note: It charged up once and then depleted as normal but would not charge up again. I took it apart (rather quickly this time) and noted the battery tab was not fully seated in the interconnect slot on the board. I gently rocked it and pushed it at the same time and got it to seat more fully. Also be careful to note that the tab has electrical contacts on one side and an insulator on the other side. Make certain to look at the slot and verify that you sliding it in such that the contacts match. Now it works fine.
